Challenge
A California-based home goods store was stuck at ~15,000 monthly organic visits with declining sales after a Shopify migration that damaged 40% of their rankings. Their category pages were thin, product schema was broken, and their internal linking was completely flat.
Strategy
We built a 12-month plan focused on three levers: recover lost rankings from the botched migration, rebuild category pages as content hubs, and roll out product schema across the entire catalog. We also implemented a hyper-targeted link building program aimed at their top 15 category pages.
Implementation
Month 1-2: Full migration audit and 301 remap of every broken URL. Month 3-4: 60 category pages rewritten with keyword-rich content, internal links, and enhanced filtering. Month 5-6: Product schema rollout across 4,200 SKUs, plus editorial link building to top categories.
Results
